Yep, I sure do!!! We use cloth diapers! You can only imagine some of the expressions on peoples faces when I tell them that. The number one question I get is "So what do you do with the poop?"I think I might just start telling them we eat it.. I'm sure that would get some funny looks too. No, but seriously, that is a reasonable question and something I was also curious about when I was introduced to cloth. To answer the question: There are liners(kinda like toilet paper) that line the diaper and catch the poop and then I just flush it down the toilet or put it in the diaper genie. No its not messy and Yes its that easy. While I feel this is the best thing for our household, it might not be for some. I would never push cloth diapering on someone, but this is why I have chosen to cloth diaper!
The first time I heard my friend Carrie-Grace mention I cloth diapers, I too was unsure about what that meant. The first thing that came to my mind was safety pins. Well, I was pleasantly surprised when she started showing me these precious, modern cloth diapers! When she started to cloth diaper with her first child and I saw how easy it truly was, I decided we would also cloth diaper with McKinley. I am so thankful she exposed me to cloth diapering!!So in case you are wondering, this is why we cloth diaper.
The diapers we purchased are size adjustable so she will be able to wear the same diapers until she is done with diapers.. so after our initial purchase, we never have to buy diapers again!
1.) TO SAVE MONEY!!!
We have not had to buy disposable diapers one time in the 8 1/2 months since McKinley has been born. Most of our cloth diapers were given as gifts (instead of a disposable diaper shower, you can have a cloth diaper shower) so we have personally spent $150 total on the diapers. I have bought detergent for them twice( I am just now running out of the first bag I bought). I have not even seen a difference in our water or electricity bill. People who use disposable diapers spend an average of $16.80 a week per child on diapers. So if we were using disposables, we would have already spent $621.60 on diapers. We have already saved tons of money and she still has a long time to go in diapers. WOW!!!

2.) MUCH BETTER FOR THE ENVIRONMENT
Initially this was not something that really mattered to me, it was not even a reason I chose to cloth diaper. I am not a "treehugger" and I probably do tons of things that are not earth friendly. But at least I know that I am doing something right! Disposable diapers take 500 years to decompose in a landfill. This could result in viruses from feces leaking in local drinking water, harmful, cancer causing chemicals being released into the air we breath.

3.) UMMM... HELLO!!! LOOK HOW CUTE THEY ARE!!! She doesn't even have to wear diaper covers under dresses!! You can get them in so many different colors and designs!
4.) IT'S SO EASY A CAVEMAN CAN DO IT.. NO REALLY THEY PROBABLY DID!!!
I never have to worry about running out of diapers and running to the store late at night! I just throw them in the washer and dryer and we have diapers ready to go!
Some other benefits:
-smooth as a baby's bottom...she has NEVER had diaper rash
-When I was trying to decide if I should use cloth, someone said "diapers just aren't something you should try to save money on".. well she has leaked maybe once and I have saved money :)
- They potty train earlier
I could go on and on... but I love cloth diapers and am glad I made the decision to use them.. and so is my husband!! If you are still unsure or curious about cloth, just ask!! I love showing people how much fun it is!!
Everyday is a gift.....even mondays

McFussy
I absolutely love being a mom.. but as every mom knows.. there are some days you think you might go crazy because nothing will make her happy! On those days McKinley is known to me as McFussy. The other day we were having one of those days.. so we went on THREE walks because I did not know what else to do! She loves to lay on the floor naked so sometimes that works too. Does anyone else have any other good tips!?!?
On a different note.. I am committing to running a half-marathon. CRAZY! It is something that I have always wanted to do but it just has not ever been the right time, and now it is, I think :/ I don't really consider myself to be all that athletic. I mean I like to work out and stuff.. but 13 miles!! Call me crazy.. but I am GONNA do it.. You should too!! Keep me accountable. I did run two miles today...... but felt really lightheaded.. no really.. I was praying I would not pass out on the side of the road and leave McKinley to go rolling down a hill! But we survived... barely.
I have always wanted to see an alligator while driving across the reservoir... like since I can remember... and I FINALLY did!! It was in the water and it was huge!!! I will never ever get in the water again.. not even dip my feet in because it definitely could have eaten me.
Fact of the day: 12 newborns will be given to the wrong parents daily.
My sister Grace was one of those... maybe.
i will get better at this whole blogging thing.......hopefully...
